Chris and I have been Midwesterners most of our lives. Trends take time to enter states like Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. It’s a place where one is hard pressed, even as a certified cupcake, donut, and pastry lover, to hear about sweet wonders like cupcake ATMs. That’s right, cupcake ATMs! They’ve been around for almost a decade and we had never heard of them. If we weren’t on this nomadic journey, we might still be in the dark.
I was on a walk with an old high school friend in Plano, Texas when she pointed out the magical Sprinkles ATM. I did some research, not only are they the creator of the first cupcake ATM, they also are the original cupcake bakery. Remember the cupcake bakery craze? They started it in 2005.
My friend and I didn’t indulge then. After all, we were being healthy, walking. Besides, it wasn’t even lunchtime yet.
Instead, a day later, Chris and I took our grandson, Demari, to the Sprinkles bakery in Dallas. We went inside first to get a feel for the place. Chris and Demari ordered their cupcakes. I waited, because I wanted to see the magic happen.
Behold the Cupcake ATM in Action:
Fresh baked deliciousness served within 12 seconds of completing my transaction. A sweet dream worthy experience.
Where to find a Sprinkles Cupcake ATM
According to my count on the locations page of the Sprinkles website, there are 29 Sprinkles ATMs. The only states that appear to have them so far are: Arizona, California, D.C., Florida, Illinois, Nevada, New York, and Texas.
