Morrison Dublin Review: Boutique Hotel Stay

Dublin Morrison Hotel's Exterior on a beautiful day.

From the moment we stepped into 5-Star The Morrison Dublin Hotel, we felt wrapped in boutique luxury with a touch of literary charm. A James Joyce quote greeted us in the lobby, “They lived and laughed and loved and left.” The check-in process was smooth, and the staff exuded warmth and efficiency. Since we knew we’d arrive before check-in time, we pre-booked afternoon tea at The Morrison Dublin—a brilliant decision that let us unwind in style while waiting.

Prime Location in Dublin City Center

Perfectly positioned just across the iconic Ha’Penny Bridge, The Morrison offers the best of both worlds: easy access to the lively Temple Bar area without being right in the middle of the revelry. The hotel’s prime location also means all the top sights on a 48-hour Dublin itinerary are within walking distance, including Trinity College, Grafton Street, and Guinness Storehouse (the last one is a 25-minute walk, but it’s pretty flat) .

Rooms at The Morrison: Elegant, Artsy & Comfortable

The Morrison’s rooms are sleek, modern, and comfortable. Literary and musical references abound. Lyrics from The Script adorned the walls in our room:

Thinking maybe you’ll come back here to the place that we’d meet
And you’ll see me waiting for you on the corner of the street.

They added a layer of personality and charm. Our spacious hotel room featured a plush bed, a full-length mirror, ample storage, and a luxurious bathtub that made me extra grateful that I remembered my bath salts. Bonus points for the W.B. Yeats-branded bottled water—talk about a word-nerd’s dream!

Afternoon Tea at the Morrison Grill: A Must-Do

Gentleman's Tea with savory sandwiches and whiskey truffles and tiered Fancy Pants Tea with sweets and finger sandwiches

One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional afternoon tea experience. The Morrison offers a unique twist with a Gentleman’s Tea, featuring hearty bites like steak sandwiches, beef sliders, and whiskey chocolate truffles, served with a bottle of Wicklow Wolf beer. Chris was delighted with it. Meanwhile, I indulged in the Fancy Pants Tea, a marvelous spread of finger sandwiches, elegant desserts like Raspberry Chocolate Nemesis and Baileys White Chocolate Mousse, and, of course, my beloved scones. The Morrison Grill caters to various dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free afternoon tea options.

Would We Stay at The Morrison Dublin Again?

Absolutely. Between its prime location, unique afternoon tea experience, and literary charm, The Morrison Dublin is one of the best boutique hotels in Dublin, and we’d happily return—perhaps just for another round of Gentleman’s and Fancy Pants Tea! As a bonus, since it’s a Hilton and we are Hilton Honors members, we can use and/or earn points here.
